Follow Up Visits

A good first appointment gets you started. Follow-up visits are what keep things moving.

Psychiatric care changes as you change. A medication that made sense in January might need a second look by spring.

Something that worked during a calm stretch may need adjusting when life picks up again.

What Happens at Each Visit

Follow-ups aren’t check-ins for the sake of it. Every appointment has a purpose.

Your clinician will review how your current treatment is sitting with you – what’s working, what isn’t, and whether anything needs to change.

We look at medication response, side effects, day-to-day functioning, and anything that’s come up since your last visit.

If adjustments are needed, we make them. If things are going well, we note that too and plan accordingly.

How often you come in depends on where you are in your care. Earlier in treatment, visits tend to be more frequent. As things stabilize, the cadence reflects that.

The Same Clinician, Every Time

There’s no value in repeating your story to someone new each time. Your follow-up visits are with the clinician who assessed you, made your initial recommendations, and understands the reasoning behind your current plan. That familiarity is what makes each visit useful rather than repetitive.

In Person or Remotely

Follow-up appointments are available at our Minot, ND office and through our telepsychiatry platform – secure, private, and just as thorough as an in-person visit. For routine follow-ups, especially, the remote option makes staying consistent with your care much easier.
